Sometimes it is a small thing that can spoil a good holiday mood. That is why we have listed possible solutions and hope that you will not need them!

Of course, we hope that you won’t have to visit a hospital or a doctor during the holidays!!! But if something does happen, it helps, that you know at least the following options:

Pharmacy / First Aid
In Javea, there are several pharmacies (e.g. Playa del Arenal). There is also a first aid station at Playa del Arenal.

Emergencies
In emergencies cases, please call 112.

Each apartment has its own air conditioning systems. Both bedrooms are equipped with split systems, which means that either heating or cooling must be provided in both bedrooms. The living rooms have separate air conditioning units. You will find the remote control for the air conditioning on the door frame. If one air conditioning system is not working, please verify if the electricity is working well (turn the light on) and then look at the backsite of the air conditioning remote controller. There you see a note, for which room the remote is configurated. Please verify, if you are using the right one (Note: OG means Obergeschoss / first floor).

We strongly recommend to turn off the airconditioning when you are cooking or baking. Otherwise, the electricity power could be overloaded. 

Since there are squats in Spain, we have installed 2 cameras as a deterrent. This is clearly marked at the entrance gate and at the front door.

Between Casa Luis and the beach, there are several carbage collection points. I would like to point out the two nearest:

Carbage / Waste Collection Point at the Fire Station (600m distance to house)
DepotRight by the restaurant Casa Pepe, at Carrer George Frederic Händel, is the fire station depot. Right next to it is a waste collection point.

Carbage / Waste Collection Point at the Entrance to the Urbanization (1.3 km distance to house)
If you continue on Carrer Cap Negro past Casa Pepe, you will see the Restaurante Faro Azahr on your right. As soon as Carrer Cap Negro merges into Ctra. del Protixol, you will see another waste collection point ahead of you.

If the gas bottle runs out of gas, a new gas bottle is available in the garage.

In such a case, we kindly ask you to replace the empty gas bottle so that a future tenant has the same options. This can easily be done at Ferreteria Pla 48, Cap de la Nau Pla 187, which is located near the supermarket. Please send us the receipt via WhatsApp (+41 79 743 82 26) along with your IBAN number and the name/adress of the account-owner. We will be happy to transfer the amount to you immediately.

If it is not possible for you to replace the gas bottle, we kindly ask you at least to inform us. This helps ensure that a future tenant does not have to eat their grilled food raw. Thank you!

In the tressor box is one apartment key available for each apartment. A second one, you will find in the Living room. When you are going on excursions to different places, this may not be sufficient. This problem can be solved by using the key tressors mounted at the front door of each appartement. This way, the group that returns first can take the apartment key from the key tressor.

Garage
The garage can be opened with the house key of the upper apartment (blue keyring).

Top of the house 
The stairs to the roof are closed to guests for safety reasons.

On the ground floor we have installed in 2026 a new kitchen with the following appliances:

Even if the kitchen is new, the need from time to time some maintenance like: a clean drain sieve, rinse aid, clearning salt, That means, if there is a warning / error on the machine, please look in the internet for the right manual?

“Leave the house clean” means that Casa Luis must be handed over in a neat and clean condition.

This means that all trash must be taken to the collection point (see https://help.ferienhaus-javea.es/help/#garbage); all rooms should look clean (so bed linen should be removed and folded), any major dirt in the rooms must be cleared, and all personal belongings should be tidied up. The kitchen must be clean, with used dishes, cutlery, and cooking utensils washed and put back in the cabinets. The fridge must be completely emptied and all food disposed of. The bathroom and toilet must be left clean, without major dirt. Bed linen and towels should be collected and left at the entrance. Personal items must not be left in the vacation home.

In short, the house should be left exactly as you found it!

Casa Luis is officially registered as a holiday apartment in Javea.

The house is named „Casa Luis“ in honor of Luis Gil, who was born in Madrid and later emigrated to Switzerland. He and his wife bought the house in Javea. After their death, the house belongs to their two children, Nathalie Siegrist-Gil and Wladimir Gil, who live in Switzerland. This is also the reason why there is a Swiss WhatsApp number for inquiries (contact information). To ensure everything is ready for our guests, we have great support on-site.

In 2018, we replaced all power outlets and secured all lines with RCDs. Each apartment was provided with its own fuse box, which is located directly at the apartment entrance door.During the cold season, there is a relatively high humidity. This can occasionally lead to creeping current, which triggers the RCD. We discussed this problem with two different specialists. The electrician on-site summarized it as follows: when the holiday home is in use, the humidity is minimal and thus the problem of creeping current is non-existent.Therefore, we ask for your patience in case you need to reset the RCD again within the first 48 hours.

Distribution box
Normally, the fuse box in the house reacts if the circuits are overloaded or a short circuit has occurred. In some cases, however, the distribution box will turn off all power in the house. The distribution box is located at the garage entrance (see picture). There, you need to switch the switches to on. After this, you have to switch on the electricity in the house again.

1. Please briefly check if all fuses (RCD) are turned on (see Power).
2. Also, check if the refrigerator is turned on. In the first floor, there is a power strip behind the refrigerator, which has a switch. This must be turned on.

Self-baked breakfast rolls, but also a daily newspaper can be found at Bianca’s Backshop (Carrer Cap Negre 3 / 1.2 km from Casa Luis / Shop owner speaks German). For security reason, the steps to the roof is closed.

Each apartment has its own television, which receives its channels via a satellite dish or cable.

1. Turn on the television (the remote control must be compatible with the TV brand). If the signal input is set to satellite, you should already be able to receive the first satellite programs.
2. If you want other channels (such as DRS 1, RTL, etc.), please turn on the television (see point 1) and switch the input signal to ‚HDMI 1‘.
3. Pick up the second remote control, turn the tv box on and select the desired channel (same procedure as with cable TV in most countries).

1. Please briefly check if all fuses (RCDs) are turned on (see Power).
2. Please check if the boiler (wather heater), which exists in each apartment, is turned on. To do this, you need to go to the two-bedroom apartment on the corresponding floor. The room has a wooden door behind which the boiler is located. Please check if the boiler is turned on (plugged in, indicator light on).
3. Unfortunately, it takes some hours for the boiler to heat the water.

The washing machine is located in the garage (blue house key). Please turn off the tap after use and leave the door of the washing machine open.

Casa Luis is connected with fiber optic. The name of the Wi-Fi, as well as the corresponding password, can be found in the form of a QR code right next to the television. If the QR code doesn’t work with your device, the WiFi name and password are listed below the QR code.

The fiber optic network at Balcon al Mar was significantly expanded during Corona and is very well maintained. Therefore, the Wi-Fi generally works well and is stable. Should problems arise unexpectedly, please briefly turn off the power at the fuse box (first floor and than ground floor) and turn it back on after about 1 minute. This procedure should only be done in exceptional situations.
